- Checkout Externalities: A Slow Server Problem with Two Classes Studies customer routing in a service system with observable queue workloads, heterogeneous service speeds, and small and large-basket customers. The paper develops theoretical results on routing externalities and threshold policies and uses numerical analysis and simulation to evaluate practical routing rules and their effects on system performance.
- Hidden Slow Server Problem with Two Classes Studies the same two-class routing problem under unobservable congestion. The project develops theoretical characterizations of customer equilibrium and socially optimal routing and examines how service heterogeneity and information limitations affect congestion and waiting times.
My research combines theoretical analysis, queueing models, stochastic modeling, optimization, and simulation to study customer routing and service-system design under different information structures.
